Odie's is a sad story, mostly because he has not yet overcome his past. He was picked up by Animal Control and had heartworm. He was kenneled beside another dog, Amy, with whom he became very close. But unlike Amy, Odie was very shy and sad. When Amy was rescued from the shelter, the choice was made to bring Odie along as well for, without both his friend and the needed heartworm medication, he surely would have died. He needs a lot of help and love to overcome the serious abuse he faced as a pup.
