Amy was a stray when taken in by Animal Control. She had a bad case of heartworm and the shelter was too small and underfunded to provide the medicine she needed. As a result, she was scheduled to be put down. Shortly before that could happen, however, she was picked up by the rescue organization and given the necessary treatment. Since then, Amy has proven to be a wonderful dog and was soon adopted by an older gentleman looking for a good companion. She has become very possessive of him and won’t allow other female dogs around him.
